Stockholm, June 10, 2024 – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, started his official visit to Sweden today. His first stop was the embassy of the Republic of Albania in the Swedish capital and the meeting with consular service employees and Albanian citizens who appear at this consulate to perform consular actions.
There are over 71 thousand consular services provided in the first 6 months of this year, by the 44 diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Albania around the world.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, within the framework of improving and facilitating the procedures for the online consular service, is committed to, in cooperation with the ANA, to realize for the first time the provision of 13 online consular services, depending on the request of to the citizen by physical presentation or by mail, with a final document equipped with a QR Code, which are finalized in the citizen’s account in e-albania under the section “My documents”.
At the same time, we are working to soon make online payment for those consular services that have a service fee.
Realization of the above services will reduce the service delivery time from 1 to 5 calendar working days.
On the first day of his visit to Sweden, Minister Hasani met with representatives of the local business community, where he underlined that in the last three years, Albania has recorded an average economic growth of 5.7% per year, exceeding the initial forecasts for each year.
The interlocutors supported the promotion of stronger economic and trade ties and the encouragement of direct investments with Sweden. In this context, there are real potentials for increasing cooperation in areas such as: energy, infrastructure or tourism.
