Bilateral relations between Albania and Turkey are excellent based on historical co-existence in peace and harmony between our two peoples. One of the main factors to boost this friendship is also the great number of the Turkish citizens by Albanian origin living all around in Turkey, those contribution for the Turkish state and nation has been always significant.
Because Turkey is and will be an important strategic partner of Albania in NATO strengthening and consolidation of the relations of partnership cooperation in all fields of mutual interest is one of the priorities of foreign policy of Albania in the region. Albania supports the fight of Turkey against all kind of terrorism and closely cooperates with Turkey in different regions of the world in frame of the global coalition against terrorism.
Albania appreciates the great contribution of Turkey in increasing of international recognitions of the Republic of Kosovo and the continuously support given by Turkey to the Albanian society and institutions in the region. 
Being also one of the main trade partner of Albania with nearly 400 million USD trade volume in a year, Albania is giving a priority to the extending of economic and trade relations in order to double the bilateral trade volume and to increase the number of the Turkish investments in Albania in all fields of mutual interest by taking advantage of the huge last developments of Turkey in infrastructure., tourism, health, etc.
Relations between two countries are based on a fulfilled and favorable legal frame-work of cooperation in many fields of politics, economy, trade, military cooperation, education, culture, health, foreign policy, etc, beginning with the Tractate of Friendship and Cooperation which is to be increased to the highest level of Partnership of Cooperation between two friend and ally countries.
