On November 12, 2024, in a ceremony organized by the State Protocol, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Ernal Filo, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the courtesy meeting after the ceremony, President Zelensky welcomed Ambassador Filo and wished him success in his duties, expressing his satisfaction with the decision of the Albanian government to open the Embassy in Kiev, as a sign of solidarity and support that the Albanian people are giving to Ukraine and its people in these difficult times. He thanked Albania for its commitment, and especially the Prime Minister, H.E. Edi Rama, whom he considered a true friend, both bilaterally and in all international forums and organizations in support of the just cause for which Ukraine is fighting, which means preserving territorial integrity, respecting international law and condemning the unprovoked and unjustified Russian aggression against Ukraine.
In his speech, Ambassador Filo conveyed to the President of Ukraine the greetings of the President of the Republic, H.E. Bajram Begaj, and the Prime Minister of the country, H.E. Edi Rama, expressing that he “feels privileged to be the first resident Ambassador in this wonderful country”. He further assured President Zelensky that Albania’s foreign policy will remain unchanged in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, strongly condemning the unprovoked Russian aggression against a free and democratic country.
