On January 17, 2025, the inauguration ceremony of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Kyiv took place in Kyiv, with the participation of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, H.E. Mr. Igli Hasani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, H.E.Mr. Andrij Sybiha, members of the Friendship Group “Ukraine-Albania” in the Parliament (Vrhovna Rada), ambassadors and diplomats from the Representations of the countries of the region, the President’s cabinet, the cabinet of the Deputy PM, the Political Directorates and the Protocol in the MFA of Ukraine, etc.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania in Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Ernal Filo, thanking those present, emphasized the importance of this historic moment, which conveys the message that Albania stands by Ukraine in these difficult moments of Russian military aggression. Ambassador Filo committed that during his mandate he will work towards strengthening and further developing the friendly relations between our two countries.
In his speech, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, H.E.Mr. Igli Hasani said that this Embassy is a new chapter, it is a symbol of deep and ever-growing relations between our two countries. Our presence here reaffirms unwavering solidarity with the people of Ukraine in these challenging times, affirms Albania’s continued stance in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and right to peace and a prosperous future. With the opening of the Embassy, Albania opens a new chapter in our partnership, a bridge between Tirana and Kyiv to work as closely as possible in achieving common goals.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, H.E.Mr. Andrii Sybiha, considered the opening of the Embassy an important historical moment in strengthening the partnership between Ukraine and Albania, as a powerful symbol of unity and stability, especially due to the fact that it occurs in the middle of a large-scale war. Despite the challenges, including a recent Russian missile attack that also affected the embassy and other diplomatic missions (North Macedonia, Montenegro, Palestine, Argentina and Portugal), the courage and dedication of the Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Ernal Filo, and other diplomats in Kyiv, are highly appreciated by us. Minister Sybiha emphasized that the opening of the Embassy is a further proof of friendship and strong partnership between Ukraine and Albania.
