The Ambassador of Albania to Ukraine, Mr. Ernal Filo, held a cordial meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mr. Vitalii Koval. The focus of the conversation was on the possibilities for deepening cooperation in agriculture and food trade, at a time of great challenges for Ukraine.

Minister Koval expressed sincere gratitude for Albania’s support to Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression, while both sides discussed:

🔸 Increasing meat trade, with the aim of mutual recognition of veterinary certificates and certification of Ukrainian enterprises for export to Albania;

🔸 The possibility of reducing customs duties on Albanian fruits and vegetables, especially during off-season periods in Ukraine;

🔸 Reactivating the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, with a first session proposed for July 2025.

Following the meeting, Minister Koval immediately contacted the Albanian Minister of Agriculture, Ms. Anila Denaj, to coordinate concrete steps of cooperation.

The meeting brought a mutual spirit of trust and willingness to advance projects beneficial to both countries, with first concrete steps expected to be taken soon.
