On November 15, during the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Conference, Albania was elected a member of the UNESCO Executive Board for a four-year term (2023-2027). The Executive Board is UNESCO’s highest decision-making body, charged with overseeing the implementation of the program and budget, to fulfill the organization’s noble mission: building a culture of peace, eradicating poverty, sustainable development and fostering intercultural dialogue through education, science, culture, communication and information.
We thank all the member states who entrusted us with this important responsibility with their vote. Albania expects to cooperate closely with all members of the Board, in the spirit of dialogue and consensus.
In a world facing multiple crises, we need more than ever to invest in peace. UNESCO, through its multilateral function, remains one of the most powerful instruments for this purpose, and its role is more necessary than ever.
Albania supports UNESCO with the strong conviction that what unites us is stronger than what divides us.
