Thank you, Mister Chair.

We join others in thanking Federal Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger for her comprehensive and forward-looking address.

Austria, as the host country of the OSCE, occupies a truly special and indispensable place within our common family. The continuity and effectiveness of this Organization owe much to Austria’s unwavering hospitality, professionalism, and institutional support. We highly value the dedication with which Austria upholds the multilateral spirit that defines Vienna as the hub of international diplomacy.

For Albania, Austria represents much more than a partner — it is a country with which we share historic friendship and enduring solidarity. Austria played a vital role in the early days of Albania’s statehood, supporting our independence and contributing to the consolidation of our modern institutions. Over the years, our cooperation has deepened into a genuine strategic partnership grounded in mutual respect, shared values, and a common European vision.

Austria has been, and remains, a steadfast advocate for the Western Balkans — promoting dialogue, stability, and reform throughout our region. Through initiatives such as the Friends of the Western Balkans, Austria demonstrates tangible leadership and a consistent commitment to keeping our region high on the European agenda.

We are particularly grateful for Austria’s continued support to Albania’s EU integration process — our central national objective. Our bilateral relations are strong and dynamic, encompassing political dialogue, economic cooperation, education, cultural exchange, and direct collaboration that benefits both our peoples.  Madam Minister, we are looking forward to welcome you to Tirana soon!

As Austria prepares to host the OSCE Ministerial Council later this year, Albania expresses full confidence in the hospitality, professionalism and commitment of our Austrian partners.

We stand ready to work together for a successful and meaningful Ministerial that reaffirms the OSCE’s relevance and its essential role in fostering stability, security, and cooperation across our region.
