On May 4-7th, 2022, Tirana International Airport in close cooperation with the Bulgarian company Gullivair and the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Sofia organized a Fam Trip and B2B meetings between Albanian and Bulgarian tour operators. The purpose of the activity was to strengthen and expand cooperation in the field of tourism between two countries and to present opportunities for the development of joint touristic packages. CEO of Tirana International Airport, representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, representatives of the National Tourism Agency (AKT), Ambassador Donika Hoxha and her counterpart in Albania, Momchil Raytchevski were the main participants of the activity.
In her welcoming speech, Ambassador Hoxha stressed that before the pandemic, Albania was one of the most preferred and growing markets for Bulgarian tourists, underlining that the establishment of the direct flight line Tirana-Sofia line will contribute to the greater intensification of exchanges not only in in the field of tourism, but also in the field of business and beyond. She emphasized that work with partners to enable further intensification of cooperation and promotion of Albania in the Bulgarian market, will further continue.
Since April 2nd, the direct flight line Sofia-Tirana was launched, bringing the two capitals even closer. With the launch of this line, the tourist flow rom Bulgaria is expected to increase significantly. Last year, Albania was a very favorite destination for Bulgarian tourists and we hope that this positive trend is maintained.
