On June 6-10th, the High Inspector of Justice Artur Metani and a delegation from this institution paid a working visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of the High Inspector of the Supreme Judicial Council of Bulgaria, Teodora Tochkova. During the visit, the delegation had intensive meetings with Bulgarian colleagues and officials from the High Inspectorate, the High Judicial Council, the High Administrative Court, the High Court of Cassation and the Constitutional Court to discuss disciplinary proceedings and the rule of law.
The visit took place in the framework of a cooperation agreement signed between the Inspectorate of the Bulgarian High Judicial Council and the High Inspector of Justice last September during a visit by Bulgarian counterparts in Tirana.
During the working meeting with counterpart Tochkova, the importance of exchanging best practices in the process of inspection and disciplinary proceedings of magistrates was discussed. The High Inspector of Justice Metani underlined the importance of this cooperation in the further development of the institution, in the framework of fulfilling the constitutional competencies.
Meanwhile, during the other meetings, views were exchanged on the importance of the rule of law in the functioning of a democratic society.
