On 11 February 2026, the Ambassador Dastid Koreshi, Permanent Representative of Albania, in the presence of the Deputy Secretary General Mr Bjørn Berge, signed the Council of Europe Landscape Convention (ETS No. 176).
Albania’s signature brings the country closer to ratification, with the aim of becoming the 42nd State Party to the Convention.
The Convention highlights the importance of landscapes for culture, the environment, and society, and underscores the value of cooperation among States Parties to ensure their effective protection, management, and planning across Europe.
