The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the video conference of the 131st session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which marked the end of the next Presidency of the Council of Europe held by Germany.
Minister Xhaçka emphasized that Albania strongly believes in multilateralism and finding solutions, promoting the values of the Council of Europe in the consolidation of democracy and the promotion of human rights.
Chief diplomat Xhaçka appreciated the role of KiE in providing recommendations and solutions to ensure basic rights, as well as congratulated Hungary, which will assume the presidency for the next 6 months.
“We are convinced that our organization has played an important role in our region. We welcome the contribution of the Council of Europe to be in line with the standards of the Council of Europe and with the legislation of the European Union in the framework of the enlargement process. We are committed to continue with the internal reforms, waiting for the holding of the first Intergovernmental Conference of Albania with the EU”, said Minister Xhaçka during the meeting.
