Zagreb – The Albanian Theatre Association in Croatia, “Mërgimtari,” has opened the third edition of its theatre festival dedicated to national minorities living in Croatia. Over the course of a week, artistic groups from various minority communities will perform plays in their native languages, highlighting their cultural heritage and identity.
The opening ceremony was attended by Croatian institutional representatives, ambassadors, and leaders of minority communities, including the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Zagreb, which has been a consistent supporter of this cultural initiative.
The “Mërgimtari” festival is recognized as a successful example of cultural coexistence, tolerance, and the promotion of diversity in Croatia. It not only preserves the traditions of the Albanian community but also serves as a bridge of intercultural cooperation.
Events will continue throughout the week, featuring performances by children and youth, as well as plays addressing social, historical, and identity themes.
