A festive celebration was held in Zagreb to mark the 65th anniversary of the Albanian Cultural Association “Shkëndija”, one of the oldest and most prominent organizations of the Albanian community in Croatia.
On behalf of the Embassy of Albania, Ambassador Donika Hoxha congratulated the anniversary, praising Shkëndija’s enduring role in preserving and promoting Albanian cultural heritage for more than six decades. The event gathered local officials, Croatian friends, members of the Albanian community and representatives from Kosovo in Croatia.
The artistic program, led by the Association’s President, Ms. Gentiana Lleshdedaj, brought to the stage traditional dances, songs, and inspiring performances by children and youth — showing the strong continuity and vibrancy of this community.
Ambassador Hoxha expressed deep appreciation to the founders, leaders, and members of the Association throughout the years, emphasizing that “Shkëndija is not just a name — it is identity, family, and future”.
The event reaffirmed the strong ties between Albanians and Croatia, and the shared commitment to preserving and celebrating cultural heritage.
