On May 14-16, Ambassador Poda participated in the 9th EU Strategy Forum for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) and the annual meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (NAJ). These meetings were held in Sibenik, Croatia and marked the end of the Croatian Chairmanship of NAJ/EUSAIR and the passing of the chairmanship baton from Greece for the period 1 June 2024 – 31 May 2025.
The participants appreciated the contribution and role of NAJ/EUSAIR in accelerating the process of European integration, underlining in particular the added value of this instrument in this process.
In his speech, among other things, Ambassador Poda emphasized that NAJ/EUSAIR is one of the mechanisms with added value to advance the integration process. He appreciated the efforts of the Croatian Presidency and all other member states aimed at promoting cooperation in the AII as well as the implementation of EUSAIR. NAJ/EUSAIR has contributed to important achievements regarding cooperation between EU and non-EU member countries in our region, offering unique and promising opportunities for all countries of the Western Balkans.
While participating in these meetings, Ambassador Poda also had a meeting with the Croatian Foreign Minister, Mr. Gordan Grlić – Radman.
