The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Croatia, Ms. Donika Hoxha, was received in a meeting by the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Mr. Gordan Jandroković. The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Hoxha underlined the excellent political relations between Albania and Croatia and emphasized the commitment of both countries to translate this partnership into deeper economic and trade cooperation. She also highlighted Albania’s progress in the EU integration process, including the objective to conclude accession negotiations by 2027 and join the EU in 2030. The Ambassador expressed appreciation for Croatia’s continued support for Albania’s European perspective.
Speaker Jandroković praised Albania’s achievements, describing it as one of the most advanced countries in the region in the EU accession process. He reaffirmed Croatia’s strong support and readiness to share its experience from its own accession negotiations. He also commended the integration and positive contribution of the Albanian community in Croatia, calling it an important bridge of friendship between the two nations.
Ambassador Hoxha provided an overview of the current stage of Albania’s negotiations with the EU and conveyed the official invitation of the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament for an official visit to Tirana. Mr. Jandroković welcomed the invitation and proposed conducting the visit in late February or early March 2026. He further announced that the Croatian Parliament will host the Parliamentary Summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Zagreb on 24–25 March 2026 and has invited his Albanian counterpart to participate.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between Albania and Croatia and to deepening parliamentary, economic, and European cooperation.
