As part of his regional tour in the Balkans, Prime Minister Edi Rama paid a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 7, 2023.
During his stay in Sarajevo, Prime Minister Rama and the accompanying delegation held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Mrs. Borjana Krišto.
During this working visit to BiH, Prime Minister Rama was accompanied by Ambassador Poda.
In the meetings with the Bosnian side, the good bilateral relations were evaluated, while the parties shared the opinion that the economic and commercial cooperation should be strengthened in the future, in order to exploit the potential between the two countries.
Prime Minister Rama informed his counterpart that preparations are being made for the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in BiH.
Another topic of discussion was regional cooperation, with a special focus on the Berlin Process and the upcoming Summit of this Process, which will be held in Tirana, in October of this year.
During his short stay in BiH, Prime Minister Rama also had a meeting with the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Becirovic, at the latter’s request.
The European perspective of BiH, the need for closer regional cooperation in view of the progress of the BP countries in the European integration process, the current political situation, as well as internal developments in BiH were an important part of Prime Minister Rama’s talks.
