On October 2, 2023, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, H.E. Edi Rama conducts an official visit to Croatia, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Sh.T.Z. Andrej Plenković.
In the delegation headed by Prime Minister Rama, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Ervin Mete and the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Mrs. Albana Koçiu. During this visit, Prime Minister Rama was accompanied by Ambassador Poda. Prime Minister Rama, in addition to the meeting with his Croatian counterpart, Prime Minister Plenković, also held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Sh.T.Z. Zoran Milanovic. After the face-to-face meeting between the Prime Ministers, it was followed by the meeting between the two official delegations, at the end of which they held a press conference. The two Prime Ministers discussed the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, the need to improve economic cooperation in various fields of mutual interest, where they shared the opinion of the potential that exists between the two countries. The European perspective of Albania was an important topic of the meeting, where Croatia reiterated its position in strong support of this perspective, not only for Albania, but also for the region. Also, the two Prime Ministers strongly condemned the violence of Serbian paramilitary units in the north of Kosovo. During this visit, the following agreements were signed in the presence of the two prime ministers:
The agreement between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Albania on social insurance, as well as the Administrative Agreement for its implementation, which were signed by the Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Albania, Ervin Mete and the Minister of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy , Marin Piletić.
The Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Albania and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia in the field of health and medicine for the period 2024-2026, signed by the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Albania and the Minister of Health of the Republic of Croatia.
