At the invitation of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Croatia, Ivan Malenica, on October 9, 2023, the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja paid an official visit to Croatia.
During this visit, Mr. Manja was accompanied by Ambassador Poda, as well as by Ministry officials
of Justice. Mrs. Manja was part of the meetings of Minister Manja. Ermira Lekaj-Prljaskaj,
Deputy of the Albanian minority in the Parliament of Croatia.
In addition to the meeting with the Malenica counterpart, he was also received in special meetings by representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Croatia and the relevant Structure for the fight against organized crime and corruption. He also had a courtesy meeting with the Vice President of the Parliament of Croatia, Mr. Željko Reiner.
During this visit, the two counterparts discussed the continuation and deepening of bilateral cooperation, based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between the respective ministries signed in February 2022. They evaluated the current relations between the two institutions, where Croatian experts are working closely with representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Albania , offering technical assistance for chapters 23 and 24, within the negotiation process of our country with the EU.
An important focus of the conversation between the two Ministers was the cooperation in other projects, including the transformation of the Probation Service in Albania, through the model of this Service in Croatia. The two interlocutors also exchanged opinions on various bilateral and multilateral issues.
