Albana Dautllari

Ambassador, Head of Mission of the Republic of Albania to the European Union

Albana Dautllari is a career diplomat with more than 25 years of experience in diplomacy, international relations, multilateral affairs, and foreign policy.

Since 1 July 2026, she serves as Ambassador and Head of Mission of the Republic of Albania to the European Union.

Prior to this appointment, she served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Albania to the Kingdom of Belgium, and non- resident to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (2025–2026), and as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, and non-resident to Finland, Norway, and Iceland (2024–2025).

From 2021 to 2024, Ambassador Dautllari served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Albania to the United Nations in New York, where she represented Albania during its membership on the United Nations Security Council (2022–2023). Previously, she was Permanent Representative of Albania to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg(2018–2021).

At the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ambassador Dautllari held several senior leadership positions, including Director of State Protocol, Director of the Department for the Americas, Asia, Africa and the Pacific, Director of the Department of Economic and Public Diplomacy, and positions within the NATO Department.

Her diplomatic career also includes service as Head of the Political Section and Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Albania to NATO in Brussels (2008-2012), Deputy Head of Mission and Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Albania to the International Organizations in Vienna, and Chargé d’Affaires in Vienna (2003-2007). Earlier in her career, she served in the Office of the Prime Minister of Albania and the Ministry of Public Economy and Privatization.

Ambassador Albana Dautllari holds a Master Degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, Bulgaria.
