The Mission of the Republic of Albania to the EU hosted today in its premises 47 new diplomats from EU member states and enlargement countries, currently participating in the Diplomatic Academy of the European Union organized by the College of Europe.
During this meeting, the junior diplomats had the opportunity to learn more about Albania’s negotiation process with the EU and our country’s ambitions for the future. In his speech, Ambassador Ferit Hoxha stated that the enlargement process has never been more timely and important, and that the discussion on enlargement with the new generation of diplomats has a special value.
The EU Diplomatic Programme for the Enlargement Region (EUDP) has been recently launched by the College of Europe and is financed by DG ENEST (the European Commission). It aims to offer our cohort a tailor-made programme on the EU Enlargement Policy and Accession. For a large part, it is running in parallel with the EU Diplomatic Academy (EUDA) for EU Member states’ diplomats and officials, sharing many shared modules and visits. The goal is to build a network of junior diplomats and officials in the spirit of a diplomatic esprit de corps, across EU borders.
