Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries on mutual cooperation and exchange of knowledge in European integration

Tirana, 17 May 2025 – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Igli Hasani, today hosted the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Moldova, Ms. Cristina Gherasimov.

Both parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which focuses on promoting mutual cooperation and exchange of knowledge in European integration to support successful preparation for EU membership.

The two countries will cooperate in areas such as membership processes, including stabilization, association and accession negotiations; exchange of knowledge and negotiation practices between negotiators and experts; organization of joint activities such as meetings, seminars and conferences; strengthening institutional structures and administrative capacities for EU membership obligations; promotion of the Green Agenda; supporting digital transformation, including cybersecurity and digital economy initiatives, etc.

During the meeting with Ms. Gherasimov, Minister Hasani informed her about the best historical moment that Albania is currently going through in the context of European integration, while the parties agreed to intensify efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation between our two countries.
