10 May 2025, Brussels
On 10 May, the Mission of Albania to the EU participated at the “Open Day” event organized at the premises of the European Economic and Social Committee, as part of the celebration of Europe Day. At this event, as it has been a tradition for several years, part of the activities included introducing visitors to the history, culture, tourist potential, cuisine, etc., of the candidate countries for EU membership.
For this purpose, a stand was organized in the Committee premises where we had the opportunity to distribute promotional information materials on Albania, as well as to serve some traditional dishes prepared by us. The activity also showed a promotional video and a collage of photos from different cities of Albania, and exhibited some panoramas which, together with other materials, aroused the curiosity of visitors to know more about our country.
Mr. Oliver Röpke, President of the EESC, who has expressed his commitment to deepening cooperation between the Committee and our country, also visited our stand .
The event was an opportunity to learn more about the advisory role of the Committee, the role of other EU institutions, the history of the founding and key personalities of the Union, the challenges and dynamic processes, including enlargement, as well as to introduce the public to a day in an EU institution.
