UPR of Slovenia

Mr. President,
Albania welcomes the delegation of Slovenia and commends the significant progress made by the Slovenian government in implementing the recommendations made during the last UPR.
We congratulate Slovenia on ratifying the International Convention on the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearance (ICPPED).
We welcome the positive developments in Slovenia, particularly in women’s rights through the adoption of the Resolution on the National Programme for Equal Opportunities for Men and Women 2023-2030 and the Resolution on the National Programme for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Violence against Women 2024-2029. We encourage Slovenia to continue its efforts aimed at ensuring the economic empowerment of women, ensuring the elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls, and finally reducing inequalities between women and men.
While wishing Slovenia a successful review, Albania recommends:
- Strengthening the fight against hate speech and racist violence;
- Continuing efforts to prevent domestic violence and violence against women;
