Ambassador Ms. Vasilika Hysi expressed appreciation for the Director-General’s report and support for WHO’s role as guardian of global health. Ms. Hysi expressed appreciation with the conclusion of the historic Pandemic Agreement, emphasizing Albania’s readiness for active contribution to its implementation. Ambassador Hysi supported the budget proposed for the 2026-2027 period, and focused on areas where WHO should concentrate: primary healthcare, improving equity in access to health services, emergency preparedness, and support for Albania in the European integration process.

Albania co-sponsored Board Decision on “Mental health as a dedicated item on the agenda of WHO governing bodies” and the Resolution “Extension of the Comprehensive Implementation Plan on Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition.”
