The UPR Working Group examined Albania’s human rights record during its 47th session, on 4 November in Geneva.
Albania is one of 14 States to be reviewed by the UPR Working Group during its upcoming session from 4 to 15 November 2024. The first, second and third UPR reviews of Albania took place in December 2009, April 2014, and May 2019, respectively.
The UPR Working Group is comprised of the 47 Member States of the Human Rights Council. However, each of the 193 UN Member States can participate in a country review.
The delegation of Albania headed by Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Mrs. Megi Fino conveyed the deep appreciation of the Albanian Government for the invaluable work undertaken by the Human Rights Council.
Engaging with the recommendations presented by member states during the UPR is an essential part of Albania’s commitment to continuous improvement.
Albania recognises that constructive feedback is vital for progress, and remains commited to consider all recommendations thoughtfully.
