Thank you, Mr. Vice President,

Albania strongly condemns the last attack in Kiev by Russian aggressor. We express our condolences to the families of the victims.

High Commissioner,

We thank you for the presentation, and we welcome the Secretary-General’s report on occupied Crimea.

Albania supports the work of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

The last reports of the United Nations demonstrate that the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the following hostilities continue to have a devastating impact on the human rights situation in Ukraine, including occupied Crimea, causing enormous suffering to the Ukrainian people.

Albania is concerned by the numerous documented cases of arbitrary detention, enforced disappearances, torture, ill-treatment, conflict-related sexual violence in detention settings, and summary executions committed by the Russian armed forces in the Ukrainian occupied territory, including Crimea.

Albania is deeply concerned about the situation of the Ukrainian children deported by force to the Russian Federation or within the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The Ukrainian children must be returned home.

Ukraine needs peace, but there can be no peace without proper justice for the victims, holding perpetrators accountable and fighting against impunity.

Albania expresses its unwavering support for Ukraine in her efforts to preserve its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

I thank you.
