Thank you, Mr. President,
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the enjoyment of human rights worldwide, particularly the right to health and health care, the right to education, economic and social rights, freedom of movement and the right to privacy.
The Covid Pandemic has affected more the vulnerable groups, and has also led to an increase in domestic and gender-based violence, among others.
To mitigate the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, Albania has taken measures to strengthen the promotion and protection of human rights through the adoption of various policies and programs.
Albania has implemented the Economic and Social Assistance Package, which included significant measures to support families, women and girls and vulnerable groups and to ensure sustainable social recovery. These measures included:
- enhancing children’s rights,
- supporting vulnerable groups by aligning domestic laws with international standards,
- improving access to justice system for just and more equitable treatment and,
- increasing measures against violence and abuse through legal reforms and support for victims.
Albania has also developed and implemented a series of important strategies to protect and promote human rights. Through cooperation with international and local organizations, the government aims to effectively implement these strategies, improve the lives of citizens and ensure a systematic approach to the protection of human rights.

To conclude Albania remains commitment to continue its efforts to ensure sustainable development and to promote human rights for all.
