Artists, musicians, art enthusiasts, and fans of his work gathered at the embassy to discuss and learn more about one of the idols of their childhood and youth, the singer, songwriter, composer, and the first performer of Albanian rock, Françesk Radi, his contribution to Albanian music, and the documentary created by his wife, the RTSH icon, Tefta Radi.
Franko, as his friends knew him, was a revolutionary in the world of music, bringing a unique freshness and innovation by incorporating the çifteli into rock music—an achievement that permanently changed the trajectory of the Albanian music scene. He was an artist who not only was not defeated by the dictatorship but used art as a tool for awareness and social reflection.
In her tribute to his legacy, Ambassador Luela Hajdaraga emphasized that Françesk Radi challenged the norms of his time, opening a new era for Albanian music. In this moment of honor and remembrance, we pay the deserved respect to an artist who brought the sunshine of art and challenged the darkness of limitations, proudly upholding the flag of freedom and passion for music.
