Full text of the Prime Minister’s invitation:
Dear compatriots,
This April, we will gather once again at the 4th Albanian Diaspora Summit. This reunion is not merely another date on the national calendar, but a moment for dialogue and reflection, as well as an expression of our gratitude, within a new chapter in the relationship between us—following a year that marked a historic turning point for our democracy.
The elections we have just left behind demonstrated that Albania is no longer a country confined by narrow geographical borders, but a nation that lives and decides wherever an Albanian heart beats. For the first time, your voice was fully realized through your direct vote. And in that vote was all of Albania beyond Albania: the strength of our workers who, through dedication, have built new lives and improved the lives of others; the courage of our small entrepreneurs who, from once disheartened emigrants, have become respected contributors to the societies they now also call home; and the talent of those who today lead in the new frontiers of our rapidly evolving world.
From those who serve with dignity across the globe—from driving taxis in the streets of major metropolises to working in the highest levels of professional services; from lecture halls where advanced knowledge is shared to the platforms of Artificial Intelligence and the knowledge economy—you demonstrated that when the country calls, distance does not diminish civic responsibility.
Your meaningful participation has given renewed legitimacy to our journey toward Albania 2030 in the European Union. You have shown that, whether contributing through labor, entrepreneurship, academic work, or cutting-edge technological expertise, the shared aspiration to see Albania progress and become fully equal among equals in the European family is a unifying force for us all.
You are no longer simply generous senders of remittances or attentive observers of Albania, but active builders of the future of our common homeland.
The April Summit is precisely the space where we will discuss how to transform this new phase of our relationship into renewed energy—into a stronger engine for Albania’s development. Your knowledge in the societies where you live, your experience at every professional level, and your connections are an invaluable national asset.
I invite you to take part in the 4th Albanian Diaspora Summit, so that together we may shape your role in the journey toward Albania 2030 in the European Union. I look forward to welcoming you with gratitude for all you have done, and with confidence in all that you will continue to do.
Looking forward to meeting you,
Edi Rama
