From 4 to 8 May 2026, the “Islands 2026” project was successfully implemented, providing consular services, primarily the issuance of biometric documents, to Albanian citizens residing on the islands of Rhodes, Crete, and surrounding areas.
The project was carried out through the cooperation of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Athens, “IdentiTek” SHA, and local government authorities.

A total of 1,100 consular services were delivered, assisting every citizen who approached the temporary service offices established in the field. From newborns to elderly citizens, all applicants received professional and efficient service, avoiding the need for long-distance travel and additional costs related to accessing services at the Embassy.
The Embassy extends its sincere appreciation to the Greek local authorities for their hospitality and valuable support in the successful implementation of this project, as well as to the Albanian community for its cooperation, patience, and continued trust.

Special thanks are also extended to the dedicated team of diplomats, the Embassy’s technical staff, and the employees of “IdentiTek” for their commitment and intensive work in serving Albanian citizens.
We express our gratitude to all citizens who became part of the “Islands 2026” project.

In service to citizens, close to citizens.
