On the occasion of the start of the 2026-2027 academic year, Ms. Joneda Dodaj, the diplomat in charge of Diaspora Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Greece, visited the supplementary Albanian language class in Renti, Attica, taught by Ms. Lefteri Metkaj.

During the visit, Ms. Dodaj commended the teacher’s dedication to teaching and preserving the Albanian language and extended her best wishes to the students for a successful academic year.
The visit also highlighted that the right to learn one’s mother tongue is accompanied by a shared responsibility among families, schools, the country of origin and the host country to support and promote its teaching.

The Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Greece remains committed to supporting Albanian language education and the efforts of teachers and the Albanian community to preserve and pass on the language to younger generations.
The event was also attended by Mr. Fitim Gllareva, Head of the Kosovo Interests Office in Greece; Mr. Jovan Mëhilli, Honorary President of the Association of Albanian Teachers in Greece; and parents of the students.
Best wishes to all students and teachers for a successful 2026-2027 school year!
