The first Albanian association in Greece, “Vëllazërimi”, chaired by Mr. Niko Curri, marked in Athens the 30th anniversary of its establishment with a commemorative festive event.
Representing the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Greece, Ms. Joneda Dodaj, diplomat in charge for diaspora, attended the ceremony.
In her remarks, Ms. Dodaj underlined the role of the “Vëllazërimi” Association as a bridge between Albania and the Albanian community in Greece, commending its commitment to protecting the rights of the community, preserving the Albanian identity, language, culture, and traditions, as well as its continuous, positive, and constructive cooperation with the Embassy over the years.
The event was also attended by the Chairwoman of the Albanian Community in Greece, Ms. Rovena Xhori, the renowned actor Mr. Nikolla Llambro, presidents of various Albanian associations in Greece, as well as members and friends of the “Vëllazërimi” Association.
The ceremony concluded with a rich artistic program, featuring polyphonic songs performed by the “Vëllazërimi” group and traditional dances by Albanian children and youth affiliated with the association.
