History, culture, and traditions of Korça merged into one at the latest event of the “My Albania: Korça” series, made possible through the successful collaboration between the Embassy, the Municipality of Korça, and the Korça community in the diaspora. This event further enriched cultural ties and helped transmit the unique values of Korça to younger generations.
Ambassador Mrs. Luela Hajdaraga emphasized that Korça’s traditions are a national treasure and an essential part of the city’s identity, showcasing the harmony between cultural heritage and the vision for the future that we build together. Meanwhile, the Mayor, Mr. Sotiraq Filo, pointed out that Korça has often been a forerunner in Albania’s history. Even in emigration, its citizens have contributed to the economy, culture, and history. Community representatives, Mr. Spartak Tili and Mr. Festim Zaçe, highlighted that such activities serve as a bridge of continuous cooperation between the diaspora and the homeland, ensuring that the heritage of Korça is passed on with pride to the younger generations of the diaspora.
The event featured a rich variety of activities, including the presentation of Korça’s traditional cuisine and handicrafts, Korça songs and dances performed by artists who came especially from the city, as well as songs by singer Gloria Nure and poetry by poet Elona Gjergo, giving the event a special artistic dimension.
A significant part of this event was the contribution of the well-known Korça actress, Zamira Kita, whose heartfelt and passionate presentation brought the spirit of Korça back to the stage, filling the atmosphere with energy and emotion. She shared memories, humor, and pride connected to her beloved city, turning the event into an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
