The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Greece, Ms. Luela Hajdaraga, held a constructive meeting with Greece’s Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Mr. Harry Theoharis, to discuss opportunities for the multi-faceted development of economic cooperation.
The discussion focused on concrete initiatives to strengthen economic ties between the two countries, including the expansion of the legal framework alongside progress in negotiations on the Social Security Agreement, the reopening of a Greek banking institution in Albania, and the organization of the Albania-Greece Economic Forum and B2B meetings in Athens in 2026.
Both sides welcomed the positive momentum in economic cooperation, highlighting the growth of trade exchanges, direct investments, and tourist flows in both directions, as well as the important role of the Albanian business community in Greece for the economies of both countries. The meeting reaffirmed their commitment to further advance the strategic partnership for the benefit of shared development and prosperity.
In the first eight months of 2025, Greece ranked as Albania’s third-largest trading partner, moving up one position compared to the same period last year.
