The Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Athens extends its sincere congratulations to the organizers of the conference entitled: “The Emergence of a Greek-Albanian Sense of Belonging: Non-Competitive Coexistence in Inclusive Perspectives,” held on June 10, 2025, at Panteion University. The event took place within the framework of a research project of the same name, developed by the Hellenic Institute for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK), under the academic leadership of Professor Dimitris Christopoulos.
The research highlights the shaping of a new, multifaceted Greek-Albanian identity and the human bridges that connect our two nations. Special emphasis is placed on the second generation of young people of Albanian origin who were born and/or raised in Greece. According to the study, the traditional dichotomy of “either Greek or Albanian” is gradually evolving into a more inclusive identity of “both Greek and Albanian” — an approach that fosters inclusion, intercultural understanding, and promotes dialogue, mutual respect, and equal coexistence between our peoples.
Warmest congratulations once again!
