It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the renowned Albanian writer, Ismail Kadare. A towering figure in Albanian literature and a powerful voice in global literature, Kadare leaves behind a priceless literary legacy that will endure forever.

By decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, July 2 and 3, 2024, have been declared National Days of Mourning.
On this occasion, the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Greece will open a condolence book at its premises (Vekiareli 7, Filothei) on July 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Condolences may also be expressed electronically at: condolences@mfa.gov.al.
