The Embassy of Albania in Athens hosted a literary evening featuring poet, researcher, and translator Maklena Nika. The event highlighted her poetry collections “Oxymoron” and “Nitroglycerin”, works that explore duality, sensitivity, and the power of language to express both body and soul.
Both books, selected for the National Literature Award, were praised by Ambassador Luela Hajdaraga, who noted that Maklena Nika represents a significant poetic achievement—a repository of linguistic richness that challenges readers to engage with the contradictions of existence, and a testament to poetry’s role as a bridge between cultures.
Ms. Konstandina Beziani, Head of the Office for National Minorities at the Prime Minister’s Office, emphasized that Maklena’s poetry touches the heart, while her professional dedication inspires the spirit, describing it as a privilege to have her as part of the team.
Reviewers Elona Gjergo and Alma Zekollari, representing LiterArt, described Maklena Nika as a poet of human experience, highlighting that her work, inspired by Hippocrates, serves as a balm for body, mind, and soul.
The evening also featured a moving recitation by actress Algiona Aga, which added a further dimension to the event and demonstrated the unifying power of words, as literature speaks a language that connects us all.
