We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of the renowned director and friend of the Albanian people, Manousos Manousakis.
With his departure, Greek art has lost a filmmaker who shaped modern Greek cinema for more than half a century. Thanks to his high artistic level, this bold director gave a voice to the most vulnerable in society and built bridges between peoples, fostering mutual understanding and respect.
By addressing important universal themes such as love, tolerance, and confronting the past, Manousakis left an indelible mark on Greek cinema and television, as well as on the artistic world and the Albanian artistic community, who considered him a mentor in their artistic journey.
Our condolences in these difficult times go to his loved ones and friends, as well as to all those who appreciated his valuable work.
