The Ministry of the Interior announces that, starting today, Albanian citizens residing abroad will have the opportunity to apply for an Electronic Identification Card or a Biometric Passport without the requirement to obtain both documents simultaneously.

This initiative aims to simplify procedures and ease access for citizens living and working outside Albania. The change also responds to the ongoing requests from the Albanian diaspora to facilitate access to necessary documents and reduce the associated application costs.

The Ministry of the Interior, through the state-owned company IdentiTek SHA, remains committed to continuously improving services for all Albanian citizens, regardless of their location, and ensuring equal and straightforward access to necessary documentation.
