On Saturday, May 4, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the bust of George Castriota Scanderbeg took place in the city of Eger, Hungary, in the square that bears the name of our National Hero. The ceremony was jointly organized by the Albanian Embassy in Hungary, our Honorary Consul in Pécs Mr. Avnija Hafuzi and the municipality of the city of Eger. Representatives of the Albanian diaspora in Hungary, the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, the Embassy of Kosovo in Budapest and other guests took part in this activity. The bust placed yesterday in Eger was sponsored by the Honorary Consul Mr. Hafuzi, while the sculpture was created by co-authors Agim Rada and Julian Muçollari. On behalf of the organizers, those present greeted the Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Albanian Embassy in Budapest Mr. Genti Bendo, our Honorary Consul in Pécs Mr. Avnija Hafuzi and the deputy mayor of the municipality of Eger Mr. Gábor Minczé.
