On March 12-13, 2024, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Mr. Igli Hasani payed an official visit to Hungary. He met the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr. Péter Szijjártó, the Vice President of the National Assembly Mr. István Jakab and the Minister for European Affairs Mr. János Book. Ministers Hasani and Szijjártó signed two important memorandums of cooperation, the first in the field of diplomatic training and the second in the field of higher education (Stipendium Hungaricum Program). The leitmotif of the visit was the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in several directions as well as Budapest’s steadfast support in the process of Albania’s integration into the European Union, especially during the second half of this year when Hungary will lead the Council of this organization. In the framework of this visit, Minister Hasani also participated in the Ministerial Panel of the Budapest Forum for the Balkans, where the challenges facing energy security in the region were discussed, as well as he held a lecture at the Diplomatic Academy of Hungary regarding Albania’s perspective on the near future of the Western Balkans.
