Chargé d´affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Jakarta, Mr. Nikson Ballço, held a meeting with Mr. Bala Kumar Palaniappan, Director of External Relations at the ASEAN Secretariat, marking the first official meeting between the Embassy of Albania in Jakarta and the ASEAN Secretariat.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on Albania’s engagement with Southeast Asia and to discuss the importance of strengthening dialogue and institutional contacts with ASEAN. As Albania’s first resident diplomatic mission in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, the Embassy highlighted its interest in developing closer relations with regional institutions and in fostering greater understanding and cooperation between Albania and the ASEAN region.

The discussion also explored areas of mutual interest and potential avenues for future cooperation, including opportunities for dialogue and engagement with ASEAN and its Member States.

The first official meeting marks a meaningful step in Albania’s engagement with ASEAN and reflects the Embassy’s commitment to building lasting institutional relations in Southeast Asia. The Embassy looks forward to continuing this dialogue and to further exploring opportunities for cooperation with ASEAN and its Member States.
