On March 5, 2025, we had the pleasure of witnessing another concrete step in the cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce of the Gjirokastra District and the Municipality of Ioannina. Representing Ioannina was Deputy Mayor Sofia Markula, who is responsible for social work, public health, and elderly services. For several months, the Consulate General of the Republic of Albania in Ioannina has facilitated meetings between these authorities, leading up to this significant event.

Today marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with representatives from Ioannina’s 13 KAPI (Daily Centers for the elderly), who were introduced to the tourist attractions of the Gjirokastra District. In the near future, they will embark on multi-day visits to Albania, strengthening ties between our communities.
