ALBANIA lies in Southeastern Europe, in the West of the Balkan Peninsula, with an area of 28,748 km2, with a border length of 1094 km, of which 657 km are land borders and 316 km are coastline, as well as 48 km are river divides and 73 km are lakes.
Albania borders Greece to the south and southeast, Montenegro to the north, Italy to the west, with which it is separated by the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea, North Macedonia to the east and Kosovo to the northeast, which is the second country in the Balkan region with the largest Albanian population.
