Together with the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erjon Veliaj, we held a productive meeting with President JATA, Mr. Shimura, and his staff.

We informed the interlocutors about the pandemic situation in our country and that thanks to the measures taken, our country is out of the "red" zone and open. Mr. Veliaj informed the hosts about the activities that will take place next year in Tirana, as the European capital of youth.

Mr. Teneqexhiu thanked MP Hase for his valuable contribution for strengthening the relations between the two countries.

H.E. Mr. Gjergj Teneqexhiu visited the Sews Cabind factory, the first Japanese investment in Albania, by the giant Sumitomo.

H.E. Mr. Gjergj Teneqexhiu together with his counterpart, H.E. Mr. Takada visited the Sews Cabind factory, the first Japanese investment in our country, by the giant Sumitomo.

So far over 300 employees have been trained and employed and soon the factory will expand its productive activity. During 2022, about 3000 people are expected to be employed.

In addition to the economic benefit, Japanese technique and ethics in business will be another benefit for our society.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, in Tokyo, Mr. Gjergj Teneqexhiu, had a virtual meeting with the President of JATA (JAPAN ASSOCIATION OF TRAVEL AGENTS) Mr. Tadashi Shimura.

At the request of the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, in Tokyo, Mr. Gjergj Teneqexhiu, a virtual meeting was held with the President of JATA (JAPAN ASSOCIATION OF TRAVEL AGENTS) Mr. Tadashi Shimura, and Mr. Hiroshi Sawabe Executive Director of the International Tourism Office of JATA. The ambassador informed the interlocutors that Albania is no longer in the red zone of Covid-19 on the world map for the pandemic situation. Mr. Teneqexhiu asked JATA to orient Japanese tour operators to Albania as a free destination from Covid-19.

The Albanian government thanked the Japanese Government for the donation of 129 cars.

The Albanian government thanked the Japanese Government for the donation of 129 cars of the latest Japanese production (a 2016 Toyota production). This gift was made possible through the allocation of a generous grant of 500 million YEN or 4 million USD for the Albanian government, following the signature of a bilateral agreement with the Exchange of Notes on July 29, 2015. The purpose of this generous gift is to reduce environmental pollution and greenhouse gases by promoting cars of the next environment-friendly generation.

On February 5th, 2016 the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in collaboration with The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo and the International Exchange Organization [IEO] held a cultural themed activity, An Albanian Evening. On, January 25th, 2016 the Charge d’Affairs of the Republic of Albania to Japan, Mr. Armand Shandro accompanied by the Honorary Consul Ms. Kyoko Aoki Spector, held at a meeting with the Mr. Hiroshi Hase, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Mr. Shandro expressed its gratitude for the important role that Mr. Hase has played as the Chairman of the Japan-Albania Parliamentary Friendship Group. Mr. Hase affirmed that he will continue to promote the relations between the two countries in his new post as Minister.
