NATIONAL SYMBOLS
ALBANIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM “The patriotic song “Rreth flamurit të përbashkuar”, with lyrics written by Asdreni in 1912 in Bucharest, became the national anthem of Albania with the Proclamation of Independence on November 28, 1912. Asdreni’s poem was sung to the music of the Romanian composer Ciprian Porumbescu (1853–1883) by the choir of the Albanian Society of Bucharest, from where it was brought to Albania by H. Mosi. The anthem was first learned by the Korça choral group, which also sang it in Vlora on the occasion of the Declaration of Independence. Since then, it has spread and become the national anthem of Albania.
