The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, participated this evening in the reception organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Kosovo, on the occasion of November 28, the 111th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Albania.
In front of those present, Prime Minister Kurti first congratulated all Albanians for the qualification of the Albanian national football team in EURO 2024.
Further, connecting three important dates for the Albanian people, Prime Minister Kurti said that “November 28 is the fundamental date of freedom and the flag, of union and independence, of the state and of victory. November 28 of Skënderbeu in Krujë in the middle of the XV century, November 28 of Ismail Qemali in Vlora at the beginning of the XX century, and November 28 of Adem Jashari in Prekaz at the end of the XX century, are the historical thread of the national weaving of us Albanians.
He said that precisely at the height of the criminal campaigns of the Serbian armies that went as far as Durrës and Elbasan, Albanian patriots of different currents and wings united around the idea of independence that was proclaimed on the afternoon of November 28, 1912 in the Assembly of Vlora, where Albania was declared independent. In a week, it will be 111 years since that day when the head of that national assembly, Ismail Qemal Vlora, became the first prime minister of independent Albania.
“As the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, I wish you the 111th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Albania and the creation of the Albanian state, starting our congratulations from today until November 28, for the freedom of citizens and equality between the peoples of our Balkan region of our European continent, for peace within states and between states all over the world, for lasting security for all and comprehensive progress for everyone”, he added.
