On 08.05.2018, a delegation headed by the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erjon Veliaj, paid a visit to Kuwait. Mr. Veliaj held meetings with the country’s high authorities, such as: former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al Sabah; The General Director of the Kuwaiti Fund for Development, Mr. Abulwahab Al Bader, as well as the head of the General Secretariat of Endowments.
During the meetings, Mr. Veliaj spoke, among other things, about the very good relations that exist between the two countries. He thanked the Kuwaiti side for the help given over the years to our country in general, as well as to the Municipality of Tirana, specifically for the construction of the “Skenderbej” square. In the end, he asked for support for various projects for the Municipality of Tirana related to infrastructure, social assistance, school constructions, etc. From the Kuwaiti side, it was emphasized that the support of various projects of our side will continue.
