The Ministry of Foreign Affairs presents the E-Consulate
application
On September 13, 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the company Telekom Albania organized the promotional activity of the consular application E-Konsullata. This application comes within the framework of the reform undertaken by the MFA in the field of consular services.
The consular application E-Konsullata can be downloaded from the Appstore and Playstore on any mobile device or tablet that has Internet access and can be used anywhere, serving as an interactive communication and information platform for all Albanian citizens wherever they are. The application contains the exact contacts and coordinates of every Albanian representation in the world; information on document legalization procedures; other consular services inside and outside the country; as well as information on the political and health situation for each of the 181 countries that are part of the E-Consulate.
It is a direct communication gateway with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as through it you can address and report to the Directorate of Consular Services of the MFA. Through this application, you will find the answer to many questions about the services that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic and consular headquarters of the Republic of Albania can offer in the world, serving at the same time as a guide for the safety of Albanian citizens who undertake trips to any country of the world.
The reform of consular services has already entered an advanced stage where, in addition to providing a series of safe, transparent and low-cost services, and no longer long queues and pocket-friendly services, we are moving towards full digitalization.
In his speech, Prime Minister Rama focused on the facilities offered by this application for Albanians living abroad, reducing costs and time, as well as significantly reducing the opportunities for abuse in the provision of necessary services or information.
The Minister of Innovation and Public Administration, Milena Harito, evaluated this application as very important in the wake of the reform of the services that the public administration offers to citizens.
In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, highlighted that the consular e-consulate application has a double purpose, it will serve almost 1/3 of our citizens who live and work abroad, it also serves as a guide for every Albanian citizen who will travel abroad, providing information about 181 countries located in it. It is an important instrument as it provides much needed integrated information for tourist operators, investment agencies, investment chambers, but it also comes in handy for the registration process of Albanians living abroad.
The CEO of Telekom Albania estimated that the Albanian State is a pioneer in the application of digital technologies in the services provided by the public administration using modern technology.
