During the last day of the work of the Conference of Ambassadors, the heads of the RSH representations in the world participated in two thematic panels, which aimed to discuss the topics of development and promotion of the country.
In the first panel on the topic “Development as a priority in our region: economic growth, governance and human rights”, the main speakers were Blendi Klosi, Minister of Social Welfare and Youth, Cihan Sultanoğlu, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and UNDP Director for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Odeta Barbullushi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ellen Goldstein, Director of the World Bank for the Western Balkans.
Penalists discussed freedoms and human rights, development and economic growth. An important topic addressed during the panel were the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, which aim to fight inequality and promote the well-being of citizens. The panel underlined that in accordance with the national development strategy, Albania is committed to respecting human rights, strengthening the role of women in society and providing a real perspective for young people and their future.
In the second panel with the theme “Beyond classical diplomacy”, the main speakers were Mirela Kumbaro, Minister of Culture, Adrian Paci, Albanian artist of contemporary world art. The focus of the panel was the commitment to promote a favorable image of the country, the role of cultural diplomacy, as a necessary tool to ensure an international promotion of cultural life through the means of traditional diplomacy, as well as increasingly public and digital.
During the discussions that followed in the last part of the conference, the consular services and the reform undertaken in this field were addressed, which aims to reposition the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an institution that offers transparent and low-cost services to Albanian citizens everywhere in the world. The panelists highlighted the recent improvements of the legal framework, the simplification of practices and the modernization of the infrastructure in the impact they have given on the growth, speed and quality of consular services.
The heads of the RSH representations in the world, at the end of the Conference, held a meeting with the business community on the topic “Promoting ‘Made in Albania’ in the world”, with the participation of the Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Milva Ekonomi. The focus of the discussion was the importance of deepening the exports of Albanian products as well as the potential that Albania offers to foreign investors and the comparative advantages in relation to other countries in the region.
